The City of Loup City is hiring a Public Works/Utilities Superintendent. This position is a Leadership position appointed by the Mayor of Loup City. Responsibilities include and are not limited to: Managing the operation and compliance of the City’s water and wastewater systems, maintaining streets, culverts, signage, and the overseeing of parks, buildings, public lots, and recreational facilities; directing sanitation, mosquito control, snow removal tree dump operations and the designated Animal Control Officer. Additional duties include safely operating equipment such as graders, loaders, and backhoes. The Superintendent also responds to citizen concerns, complaints, handles emergency calls, attends monthly City Council meetings, and ensures accurate records and safety compliance. Qualified candidates must be able to obtain: Grade IV and VI Water Operator’s Licenses as well as Wastewater (L) Treatment Facility Operator Certification. In addition to having the capabilities to meet the physical demands of the position, applicants, must also have a good driving record, be insurable, pass drug/alcohol and background checks.
